The Minnetonka Fire Department operates five fire stations located throught the city. R-Control SIPs (structural insulated panels) where used in the structural roof deck construction of the Minnetonka Fire Station #5 in 1992. With their versatility, strength, cost effectiveness, and energy efficiency, SIPs are ideal for a wide range of commercial projects like fire stations.

R-Control SIPs not only provide a strong structural system that resist loads caused by wind and snow, but they are also environmentally friendly. The structural skins of R-Control Structural Insulated Panels are made from renewable controlled growth wood resources, and the EPS core contains no CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, or formaldehyde while providing superior insulation. For years and years, this R-Control structure will save fuel used for heating and cooling and reduce pollutants.
